The Origin Story

“The wilderness and order of nature reminds me there is growth, beauty and power in just being.”

For so many of us, the pandemic of 2020 provided time to assess the state of our health, happiness and lifestyles. Many of us moved outside to connect with others and spend time in new ways. My family and I moved back to our nature by starting small — trips to local and regional state parks for hiking, biking and fishing. Then we took on grander driving-distance destinations in Texas - lakes, the desert, and the Gulf of Mexico. In November 2020, we made a bold move and headed to Western North Carolina to live in the mountains for six months. Our lives completely changed.

We spent the winter and spring of 2021 shedding past and present pains by connecting to the healing power of nature. The mountains and forests were large enough to hold us and all that we carried. They offered the space, quiet, solitude, peace and oxygen to honor and return to ourselves by being back to nature - in mind, body and spirit. We thought about all the issues, felt all of our feelings, discussed all the things, ate all the good food, slept far from cell towers and artificial light, and walked or hiked together nearly every day. We found ourselves in nature. Most importantly, we realized WE ARE NATURE!

All this sparked my personal efforts to heal my nervous system by releasing past pains and memories and recalibrate to a new normal that inspired myriad positive life decisions, including a permanent move from Texas to Atlanta in April 2021. This move increased my access to various healing modalities that include the entirety of the human experience in mind, body and spirit. Talk therapy is a wonderful first step in acknowledging and understanding the “what” and “why.” But The Body Keeps the Score and I have experienced huge holistic shifts in being through holistic therapies such as biofield tuning, Network Spinal Analysis, vagus nerve exercises, sound healing and meditation, breath work, and heat and water therapy — to name a few.

Today, I carry a deep desire to increase access to the transformative power of nature, share possible avenues toward well being, and inspire reconnection back to ourselves — embracing the 6 R’s of Bae Life: Recreation. Relaxation. Restoration. Rejuvenation. Retreat. Rest. I am grateful to Mother Earth for helping to birth Bae Retreats. I look forward to providing you opportunities for awakening, healing, pleasure and symbiotic community.

Love, Sarah
